A feature that cannot be ignored when NearHub Board plays a great role in meetings is its video meeting function. It not only inherits the advantage of traditional face-to-face meetings in one room, but also meets the needs of remote collaboration in the new era. In addition, the camera on the board has more powerful functions than ordinary device cameras, which makes meetings immersive than ever.
There are two characteristics of the camera worth mentioning. Firstly, the NearHub Board in-set camera owns 120 wide angle FOV, which can capture almost everyone in a meeting room. Another characteristic is that it is an Al-powered 4K camera. These two features enable the board to achieve multiple modes of video conference display, and also give the board the possibility of adapting to multiple scenarios. By now, the camera is able to achieve four shooting modes. They are Panoramic View, Speaker Tracking, Auto Framing and Gallery View.
In this article I will introduce four shooting modes of the NearHub Board in-put camera in detail.
Four shooting modes
1、Panoramic View
Panoramic View is a display of all the scenes that the camera can capture. According to the investigation, the angle of the front camera of ordinary mobile phones can capture is 60-90 degrees, while the angle that the input camera can capture is 120 degrees.
So when the camera is in this mode, the screen will display a scene of 120 degrees in front of the whiteboard, which is much wider than the ordinary phone and provides a more immersive experience during the meeting.
Unlike the other three modes, the scene under this mode will not move or change during the meeting. The camera will keep the lens steady throughout the entire meeting.
Panoramic view is useful for remotely exploring locations, such as museums, nature reserves, or historical sites, allowing viewers to experience these places without physically being there.
2、Speaker Tracking
Speaker Tracking, just like the name, when the camera is set to this mode, it will track the speaker automatically, which takes advantage of AI.
When someone is speaking or giving a presentation in the meeting, the camera will sensitively capture the voice of the new speaker, and then the lens will automatically focus on him. The screen will amplify the image and only display the scene where the speaker is to make sure the speaker completely appears in the center of the vision.
If someone else starts his speech, the lens will switch to him, too. This mode helps the numbers to better concentrate on the meeting and improve the efficiency of the discussion. It captures and conveys non-verbal cues, facial expressions, and body language, which are essential for effective communication, especially in business meetings and educational settings.
Users can participate in video calls without the need to worry about camera angles and framing, allowing them to focus on the content of the conversation or presentation.
Speaker tracking technology offers a cost-effective solution for organizations, as it eliminates the need for expensive camera operators or manual camera control equipment.
3、Auto Framing
This mode also utilizes the face tracking technology of AI. As we mentioned before, the angle that the in-put camera can capture is 120 degrees. In the scene of 120 degrees in front of the camera, it’s possible that the meeting members are not evenly distributed. On this occasion, this mode works.
The camera will turn to shoot the place where people gather and move with people’s movement. If new numbers join the room while the meeting is in progress, the Al-Powered 4K Camera will quickly capture them, preventing any attendees from being excluded from the shot.
This mode avoids the trouble of personnel intentionally entering the camera shot when newly joining the conference. It provides a seamless and user-friendly experience during video calls by eliminating the need for manual adjustments or camera panning. Participants can concentrate on the conversation without being distracted by camera controls.
Auto Framing adapts to the natural flow of conversations, enhancing the viewing experience. When someone else starts speaking, the camera automatically adjusts to frame that person, creating a dynamic and engaging visual experience.
4、Gallery View
The Gallery View mode can split the meeting screen into separate portrait windows, ensuring that everyone in the meeting has a separate shot.
Gallery View allows you to see multiple participants at the same time on your screen, often in a grid layout. This can be particularly useful in larger meetings or webinars where you want to see and connect with multiple participants simultaneously.
Also, it can make virtual meetings feel more like in-person meetings, fostering a sense of social connection and community, which is especially important for remote or distributed teams. In Gallery View, all participants have equal visibility, which can be more democratic and prevent any single person from dominating the conversation.
For meeting hosts and presenters, Gallery View allows them to monitor the engagement and reactions of participants more easily. This can be helpful for adjusting the pace or content of a presentation.
When someone shares their screen or a presentation, Gallery View can help viewers see the presenter alongside the content being shared, providing context and facilitating better understanding.
